Atlanta, GA (December 2009) – The 2010 Intercessory Prayer Conference will be hosted in Atlanta, January 6-8. The conference theme is Reclaiming the Church, the House of Prayer and will be hosted by Bishop William H. Murphy Jr. Murphy is the pastor of New Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Pontiac, MI and is widely known as a General in the area of prayer. The conference annually hosts hundreds each night and Atlanta is providing to be no different. Attendees can expect the spirit of prayer to fall mightily on the hundreds of attendees who will fill the Renaissance Waverly Hotel Atlanta in the Cobb Galleria area to learn more about effective intercessory prayer.
This year the focus will be on the triad of the Pastor, Intercessor and Worship Leader or Minister of Music. These three positions are key roles in ministry that must be on one accord to successfully Reclaim the church, the House of Prayer. With this purpose in mind, nightly services (which are free and open to the public) begin at 7pm and will feature Bishop William Murphy, Jr., Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. of Changing a Generation Church, Pastor Sheryl Brady of the River Church and Pastor William Murphy, III of the dReam Center church of ATLANTA. Those registered for the conference will also get to experience over 24 powerful, life-changing classes that will be offered during the day with topics that include: Mobilizing an Intercessory Prayer Team in the Local Church, The Worshipper and His Ministry of Prayer Understanding the Role of the Intercessor, Covering Your Covering, Creating an Atmosphere that Releases Prayer, Warfare Intercession, Understanding Dreams and Visions, Skillsets for Drawing Out the Prophetic Dimension, Territorial Mapping, and Releasing the Kingdom into the Earth Realm. A special session will be held on Friday evening at 10pm to 1am. This amazing service is a favorite of youth and young adults and is led by Rock Nation band featuring DeVaughn and DeJaughn Murphy and other special gospel artists and guests.
“People are already calling in from the Bahamas, Germany, and all across the United States,” said Murphy about the annual international conference. “So we’ll have people from all across the world coming to this event. Many churches are sending whole teams of intercessors and worship leaders/praise team members. When they all gather in one place earnestly seeking a more powerful prayer life, it will be impossible for the world to remain the same.”
“This type of environment releases the spirit of prayer,” Murphy said. “The purpose of the event is to raise up intercessors that will pray for our churches, cities, and nations. It’s not just a preaching experience. It’s a learning experience that will help us to better understand our position as intercessors, gap standers, between the heavens and the earth.” More details are available at www.williammurphyministries.org.
